North Washington at North Houston in Livingston, shortly before noon, 03/15/21
Accident Hospitalizes 3, LIVINGSTON, March 15, 2021 - At approximately 11:25 am on March 15, 2021, a white 2016 Dodge Durango, driven by Amanda Sue Diets, 36, of Diboll, was north-bound on North Washington (Business 59). As Diets was about to pass through the intersection of North Washington and North Houston (146), a west-bound black 2007 Saturn Aurora, driven by Alicia Shambre Kwinyana, 23, of Crocket pulled into her path. The vehicles collided. Diets' vehicle came to rest in the intersection, while Kwinyana's vehicle came to rest at the edge of the pavement. Trooper Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol was the first officer on the scene and summoned Livingston Police Department. Officer Scott Paske with Livingston PD was dispatched to the scene and was joined by other officers with LPD. Additionally, Sheriff Byron Lyons showed up to assist. Volunteer Firemen from Livingston Heavy Rescue Unit used the Jaws-of-Life to free Kwinyana and her passenger from their vehicle. According to witnesses, Kwinyana had a red light and was supposed to stop. Kwinyana will be cited for the accident. Diets' child passenger, Kwinyana, and Kwinyana's passenger were all three transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Both vehicles were recovered by Dan's Towing and will be stored in Livingston (Dan's was assisted by Ken's Towing).
This 2007 Saturn Aurora was driven by Alicia Shambre Kwinyana, 23, of Crocket. Kwinyana allegedly ran a red light that caused the accident.
36 year old Amanda Sue Diets, of Diboll, was driving this 2016 Dodge Durango north on North Washington, when her vehicle collided with Kwinyana's vehicle.
First responders help Kwinyana onto a gurney.
Kwinyana was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital (as was her passenger and a child passenger from Diets' vehicle).
