Truck Slams Into Railroad Crossing Arm, LIVINGSTON, March 12, 2019 - At approximately 12:15 am on March 12, 2019, a tan 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, driven by Aracelia Flores Gaspar, 20, of Livingston, was south-bound on FM-1988 south when her pickup left the pavement to the right and slammed into a railroad crossing arm pole (next to Thomas Supply). Gaspar, who is in her 9th month of pregnancy, was transported by private vehicle to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Officers Donald Dyson and Sergeant Darrell Newman with Livingston Police Department were dispatched to the scene are were assisted by Sergeant Javier Segura with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The arm pole was bent over the railroad tracks and was an obstruction for an oncoming train. As luck would have it, a train was coming. The officers knew the correct number to call the railroad dispatch office and notify them of the situation. The railroad dispatch relayed the information to the crew of the train and it was stopped in time. This accident remains under investigation by the Livingston Police Department. Gaspar's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker Service and will be stored in Livingston.

20 year old Aracelia Flores Gaspar, of Livingston, was driving this 2004 Dodge Pickup and left the pavement to the right, striking a railroad crossing arm pole.
The railroad arm pole assembly was leaning over the tracks and posed an obstruction for an oncoming train.
Gaspar's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker.
