Driver and Passenger Hospitalized in Car Accident, SODA, March 7, 2013 - At approximately 4:15 pm on March 7, 2013, a gray 2012 Dodge Charger driven by Christopher Garcia, 24, of Livnginston, was west-bound on US-190 East. Garcia was apparently distracted from his driving and slammed into the back of gray 2012 Chevy Silverado driven by Joaneline Atchley, 58, of Goodrich. Atchley had slowed down for a school bus. Both vehicle came to rest on the right side of the west-bound lanes. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy David Mitchell with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol. Garcia and his young passenger were both treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Joanaline Atchley was physically okay. According to Trooper Cain, Christoper Garcia was cited for failure to control speed and no driver's license. Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing. Garcia's vehicle will be stored at Pollock's Body Shop in Livingston, while Atchley's vehicle will be stored at Bounds Autoplex in Livingston. The scene was cleared in about 40 minutes.
