Car/Pickup Collision Hospitalizes 1, BLANCHARD, March 5, 2024 - At approximately 10:15 am on March 5, 2024, a black 2006 Ford F-150 pickup, driven by Thomas Martin, 65, of Livingston, was south-bound on FM-2457. As Martin was passing FM-3126 (by Blanchard Baptist Church), a blue-green 2011 Ford Edge, driven by Kay Stephens, 69, of Onalaska, pulled off of 3126 and slammed into the passenger's side of Martin's pickup. The impact knocked Martin's front passenger's side tire off as Martin slid to a stop. Stephens' vehicle came to rest on the pavement at the intersection. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Johnny Wilkerson, Nick Hatton, and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol. Stephens was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Martin was physically okay. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Stephens is facing a citation for failure to yield at the intersection. Martin's vehicle was recovered by Smith Towing out of Livingston, while Stephens' vehicle was recovered by George White & Sons Wrecker Service out of Onalaska.

69 year old Kay Stephens, of Onalaska, was driving this 2011 Ford Edge when she pulled off of FM-3126 (next to Blanchard Baptist Church) and slammed into Martin's vehicle. Stephen's was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
