Driver Allegedly Passes Out, Slams Into Tree, CAMP RUBY, March 4, 2020 - At approximately 1:40 pm on March 4, 2020, a white 2016 Nissan Titan, driven by Gerald Wayne Riley, 81, of Dallardsville, was south-bound on FM-1276 (just north of Camp Ruby Road). Riley allegedly passed out at the wheel, left the pavement to the left, continued down an embankment, crashed through a barbed wire fence and slammed head on into a tree. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Corporal Mark Dubose with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol. First Responders carefully removed Riley from his vehicle. Riley was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. No citations were issued. Riley's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich.
