Near Head On Collision Hospitalizes 3, LIVINGSTON, March 1, 2018 - Shortly before 7 pm on March 1, 2018, a white 2004, Chevy pickup, driven by Shaun Morgan, 35, of Livingston, was north-bound on FM-350 North (about 5 miles off 190 West). Morgan's vehicle had mechanical problems and broke down in the middle of the pavement on the south-bound side of 350. A short time later, a black 2004 Ford Expedition, driven by Charles Compton, 69, of Livingston, was south-bound on 350 and came upon Morgan's vehicle. Compton swerved left to avoid the broken down pickup, but still clipped the back half, at that moment, a gray 2016 GMC Denali, driven by Sharon Manning, 44, of Livingston, was north-bound on 350. Compton's vehicle, and Manning's vehicle nearly impacted head on. Compton cut right and clipped the driver's side front fender of Manning's vehicle. Compton's vehicle left the pavement to the right and came to rest at the woodline. Manning's vehicle came to rest in its lane of traffic. Allegiance and Americare Ambulance Services were dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Sergeant Adam Norris and Corporal Jason Burleson with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Donny Akers and Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol. Compton, his wife, and Manning were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Morgan was not in his vehicle when his vehicle was struck and was physically okay. All traffic on 350 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Morgan was cited for driving with invalid license. Compton's and Manning's vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Morgan's vehicle managed to start and was driven from the scene.
