The driver of a 1999 Jeep Cherokee crashed into Matress One, Livingston. The driver says his brakes failed.
Driver Crashes Into Livingston Matress One, LIVINGSTON, February 23, 2019 - At approximately 5 pm on February 23, 2019, a maroon 1999 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Michael Wayne Cheney, 45, of Coldspring, was traveling south-bound in the strip center parking lot next to Little Ceaser's Pizza.  According to Cheney, his brakes failed and he couldn't stop, so he turned left and crashed into Matress One located at 1501 West Church Street.  The impact shattered the glass front of the store.  Allegiance Ambulance was dispatched to the scene along with Officer Adam Williford with Livingston Police Department.  Williford was assisted by Trooper Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol and Deputy Ronald Bogany with the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  Cheney was not injured during the incident and there are no reported injuries to anyone else.  No citations have been issued as the accident remains under investigation.  Cheney's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston.
