A 2006 GMC Yukon slid into a ravine (turning upside down in the process) on the north-bound side of Pan American Drive.
Single Vehicle Rollover Into a Ravine, LIVINGSTON, February 22, 2014 - At approximately 7:10 am on February 22, 2014, a black GMC Yukon driven by Christina McGowen Peters, 34, of Livingston, was north-bound in the 200 block of Pan American Drive when her vehicle left the pavement to the right and rolled into a ravine turning upside down in the process. Her vehicle came to rest upside down with Peters trapped inside. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Officers Brandon Brewer, Kaleb Barker and Sergeant Lewis Milner (all with Livingston Police Department). Volunteer Firemen were able to get Peters out of the vehicle and out of the ravine where she was loaded onto an ambulance and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic on the north-bound side of Pan American was partially blocked during rescue, investigation and cleanup. It is not know why Peters left the pavement (perhaps she fell asleep?). The accident remains under investigation by Officer Brandon Brewer. A recovery vehicle from Ken's Towing recovered Peters' vehicle and it will be stored at Harrsion Body Shop in Livingston.
Firemen had to work quickly. As they were rescuing Christina Peters, the vehicle slowly started slipping deeper into the ravine.
Peters is pulled to safety.
Emergency personnel carry Peters back up to the road to a waitng ambulance.
Peters was rushed by ambulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital.
Tire marks in the grass lead to Peters' turned over SUV.
Peters' vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing.
Houdini was on hand to assist Ken's Towing.
