Accident on Pan American Drive In Livingston, LIVINGSTON, February 19, 2008 - An accident involving two trucks occurred shortly before 7 pm on Pan American drive. Ladonna Strypos of Onalaska was driving her 1997 red Ford Ranger truck on the overpass heading into Livingston when she was hit on the passenger side of her truck by a 1998 Dodge pickup driven by Joe Johnson of Livingston. Johnson was coming off the exit ramp of highway 59 and, according to Livingston Police, attempted an illegal left turn into Strypos' lane causing the accident. Johnson's Dodge pickup was damaged on the front end driver's side. Both vehicles sustained major front end damage. A rollback wrecker from Fawbush and a rollback wrecker from Ken's towing were at the scene to tow the vehicles. No ambulance was needed as both parties appeared physically okay. Johnson was issued a citation for failure to yield to traffic control devices (In this case, "traffic control devices" would be referring to the plastic little poles that divide the two lanes where the entrance ramp and the overpass come together as two adjoining lanes).
