Car Rear Ends 18 Wheeler, GOODRICH, February 16, 2024 - At approximately 9:55 am on February 16, 2024, an 18 wheeler flat bed, driven by Alan Rokhar, 40, of Palestine, was north-bound on US-59. Rokhar was nearly completely stopped due to backed up traffic from road construction (next to Stallion Station Road). Rokhar was suddenly slammed from behind by a gray 2015 Mazda CX5 driven by McKenna Shulin, 18, of Bedford. Evidence suggests that Shulin caught herself at the last second and cut right but still slammed into the back of Rokhar's 18 wheeler. Shulin's car bounced to the right and spun around as it left the pavement and came to rest at the edge of the woodline facing south. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately for Shulin she sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Shulin will be cited for failure to control speed. One lane of 59 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Shulin's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker Service and will be stored in Goodrich.
