Pickup Driver Slams Into Back of 18 Wheeler, Driver Flown Out, SCHWAB CITY, February 16, 2017 - At approximately 7:10 am on February 16, 2017, a red 2013 Ford F-150 driven by Scotty Addison, 40, of Cleveland, was north-bound on US-146 just north of FM-2665. Addison was distracted by his cell phone and failed to notice an 18 wheeler, driven by Harry Dear, 58, of Livingston, that was also north-bound directly in front of him. Addison slammed in the back of the 18 wheeler. His vehicle came to rest in the middle of the pavement. Dear pulled over to the shoulder. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Jason Paske, and Deputy Jacob Hopper with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the Holiday Lakes, South Polk County, and Livingston Volunteer Fire Departments, and Troopers Chris Cain, Allen Stanton and Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Addison suffered a large head laceration when his head struck the windshield of his pickup. Addison's 7 year old son was with him and suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Dear was not injured. A PHi Air Medical helicopter was summoned and flew Scotty Addison to Conroe Regional Hospital. Traffic on 146 was shut down during flight operations and partially shut down during investigation and cleanup. Addison was cited for failure to control speed. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker recovered Addison's pickup. Dear's 18 wheeler was driven from the scene.
