UPDATE ON MAJOR MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: The names of the victims in the motorcycle crash that occurred on Friday night on FM-2457 have been released. The driver is identified as Tyler Luce, 28, of Livingston, and Kaitlyn Dunn, 24, of Livingston. At the time of the crash, Luce was not wearing a helmet, Dunn was wearing a helmet. Both were flown to HCA Conroe in critical condition.

Motorcycle Accident, Driver and Passenger Critical, BLANCHARD, February 9, 2024 - Shortly before 7 pm on February 9, 2024, the driver of a red Kawasaki motorcycle (with female passenger) was south-bound on FM-2457. According to a witness, the driver was traveling around 100 miles per hour (towards the end of 2457 on the lake). The driver lost control, the motorcycle turned over on its side and slid approximately 150 feet, crashed through the end-of-road barrier and came to rest in the grass. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper Cotye Lowrie with the Texas Highway Patrol. A witness at the scene (Jason Turner, of Livingston) was fishing off a nearby pier and went to help before EMS personnel arrived. Neither the driver nor his passenger had any identification on them. Both were transported by ambulance to a nearby landing zone and flown to the Houston area in critical condition. At time of press, the names have not yet been released. The motorcycle was recovered by Dan's Towing out of Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
