59 year old Gary Davis, of Onalaska, was driving this 2016 Chevy Cruze when he slammed into the rear end of a pickup.
Driver Causes Accident, Arrested for Possession of Marijuana, SODA, February 8, 2017 - At approximately 7:43 pm on February 8, 2017, a blue 2016 Chevy Cruze, driven by Gary Davis, 59, of Onalaska, was west-bound on US-190 East in the vicinity of Soda. Davis slammed into the back of a west-bound pickup (gray 2015 Dodge Ram, driven by Luke Myers, 32, of Livingston) that was in front of him. The collision caused Davis to lose control and spin around to the east-bound lanes of 190 where he came to rest partially on the shoulder. Meyers pulled over to the shoulder of the west-bound side. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Corporal Adam Norris and Deputy Jason Burleson with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Ashlee McBride with the Texas Highway Patrol. Neither Davis nor Myers were injured. Before towing, the car must be inventoried. During vehicle inventory, Trooper McBride found a zip lock back stuffed with two ounces of marijuana. Davis was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Meyers' vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Davis' truck was recovered by Fawush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich.

During an inventory of Davis' vehicle, Trooper Ashlee McBride found a zip lock bag stuffed with 2 ounces of marijuana.
Trooper McBride and Corporal Adam Norris field tested the marijuana.
Davis was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.
Myers' vehicle was reovered by Ken's Towing.
