Alleged Mechanical Problems Cause Crash, GOODRICH, February 6, 2016 - Shortly before 10 pm on February 5, 2016, a tan 1999 Lincoln Town Car, driven by 53 year old Kay Lyn Harrington, of Livingston, was west-bound on FM-1988 East. According to Harrington, her vehicle began to have mechanical problems causing her to lose control of her vehicle as it left the pavement to the right and rolled down an embankment and came to rest at the bank of a creek. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies Victor White and Teddy "Precious" Simms with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Ashlee McBride and Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Harrington managed to exit from her vehicle and get back to the road. She was checked by EMS personnel and then insisted on being released. A friend was summoned and took her by private vehicle to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital for precautionary measures. No citations were issued. Traffic on FM-1988 was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Harrington's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop Livingston.
