Vehicles Collide on 190 West, WEST TEMPE, January 27, 2023 - At approximately 8:12 am on January 27, 2023, a gray 2015 Chevy Equinox (county government vehicle), driven by Mike Ainsworth, 37, of Onalaska, was east-bound on US-190 West. As Ainsworth was passing Gray Drive, a white 2013 Ford Expedition, driven by Virgil Taylor, 73, of Livingston, pulled off of Gray Drive directly in front of Ainsworth. The vehicles collided. The impact spun Taylor's vehicle around facing south and went into a ditch on the east-bound side while Ainsworth's vehicle came to rest on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Marcus Bailey with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Sean Barnes with the Texas Highway Patrol. Ainsworth suffered a cut on his hand and was treated at the scene by EMS personnel and released. Taylor appeared to be physically okay.
