Deputy Ted Sims and Sergeant Javier Segura with the Polk County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.
Driver Jumps Crossover and Rolls End-Over-End, LIVINGSTON, January 25, 2018 - At approximately 9:35 pm on January 24, 2018, a black 2000 Lexus GS-300, driven by Daniel Houston, 31, of Memphis, Tennessee, was north-bound on US-59.  Houston fell asleep at the wheel.  His vehicle drifted left, entered the median, struck the embankment at a crossover, went airborne, jumped the crossover, landed on the other side of the crossover and rolled end-over-end.  Houston's vehicle came to rest upright in the center median facing south (next to the radio station).  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Javier Segura and Deputy Teddy Sims with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Houston was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup.  Houston was cited for no seatbelt.  A rollback wrecker from Fawbush Wrecker Service recovered Houston's vehicle and it will be stored in Goodrich.
