Accident Hospitalizes One, SPRING CREEK, January 24, 2013 - A 16 year old local youth was driving a blue 2005 Dodge Caravan and attempted to crossover US-190 West fom Pinckard road to Walding road. The youth failed to yield to an oncoming gold 1999 Chrysler sedan driven by Christine Hartman, 65, of Cissna Park, Illinois. Hartman's vehicle broadsided the minivan. Both vehciles came to rest off the west-bound side of the pavement. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Corporal Billy Duke with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. The youth was physically okay, but Hartman was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital by ambulance with undisclosed injuries. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. According to Trooper Akers, the youth was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign. Both parties had insurance. A rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service recovered the minivan and it will be stored at Bounds Aoutplex in Livingston, while the car was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

The minivan was recovered by Big Jim Harwood.
