Pickup Slams 2 Poles and Rolls, LIVINGSTON, January 21, 2009 - At approximately 5:30 pm on January 20, 2009 a black late model Ford F-150 truck occupied by 3 Livingston youths (2 males and 1 female) was south-bound on US-59 bypass near Baskins when the driver claims to have fallen asleep. The vehicle left the road to the left and struck a underpass support column. The truck continued out of control and hit a highway light pole, knocked the pole down and rolled 1 1/2 times before coming to rest near the north bound lanes of 59. Livingston Police Officers Kevin Ward and Leon Middleton were dispatched to the scene along with DPS Trooper Darwon Evans. According to Officer Ward, the accident remains under investigation. All three occupants were transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital by Americare Ambulance Service. One lane of traffic on the north-bound side of 59 was blocked as the accident was being investigated and cleared. The vehicle was towed by a rollback wrecker from Fawbush wrecker service. The scene was cleared and traffic fully flowing by 6:20 pm.
