3 Truck Collision, 1 Deceased, CEDAR POINT, January 18, 2024 - At approximately 2:15 pm on January 18, 2024, a three vehicle accident occurred on US-190 West. The collision claimed the life of an Onalaska woman, and sent the other drivers to the hospital. A dark green GMC Sierra, driven by Joan Roach, 59, of Onalaska was west-bound on US-190 West. Roach was waiting to make a left turn (11539 block of 190 just east of the Cedar Point Subdivision) when she was slammed from behind by a tan 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup driven by Lena Dickerson, 25, of Onalaska. The impact knocked Roach's vehicle into the east-bound lane and she was slammed again (glancing head on) by a white Chevy Silverado driven by Phillip Wilkinson, 65, of Splendora. Roach's vehicle and Dickerson's vehicle's came to rest on the pavement while Wilkinson's vehicle left the pavement to the right and came to rest in a parking area. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Game Wardens and Troopers Sean Barnes, Nick Hatton, and Sergeant Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Joan Roach was killed on impact. Dickerson and Wilkinson were both transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. All traffic was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Justice of the Peace, Terri Mayer filed an inquest at the scene. A first-call car from Pace Funeral Home transported Roach from the scene. All three vehicles were recovered by George White & Sons Wrecker Service out of Onalaska. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

25 year old Lena Dickerson, of Onalaska, was driving this 1999 Dodge pickup when she slammed Roach from behind.
The impact of being slammed from behind knocked Roach's vehicle into the east-bound lanes of traffic where she was slammed again head on.
65 year old Phillip Wilkinson, of Splendora, was driving this Chevy Silverado east-bound on 190 when Roach was knocked into his lane causing a glancing head on collision.
