Names Released from Fatal Accident, ACE, January 19, 2023 - The names of the drivers have been released from the fatal head on collision when the driver of a 2013 Honda Civic was west-bound on FM-2610 about 1.5 miles from US-146. The Honda Civic was driven by Debra Miller, 67, of Taylor Lake Estates. Miller was rushed to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The 18 wheeler was driven by John Bazzoon, 58, of Cleveland. Bazzoon sustained minor cuts but was otherwise okay. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

Collision Turns Fatal as Car Has Head On with 18 Wheeler, ACE, January 18, 2023 - At approximately 11:25 am on January 18, 2023, an 18 wheeler was northeast bount on FM-2610 (about 1.5 miles from US-146) when the driver of a silver 2013 Honda Civic crossed the center line from the opposite direction of travel. The two vehicle collided head on. The Honda left the pavement to the left while the 18 wheeler (hauling 12x12 planks) left the pavement on the opposite side of the road and slammed into large pine trees. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the South Polk County and Holiday Lake Estates Volunteer Fire Departments and Troopers Corporal Ramey Bass, Johnny Wilkerson, and Sergeant Sam Lattner. Names are being withheld at this time. The driver of the car was rushed by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital and was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving. Justice of the Peace, Robert "Dooley" Johnson executed an inquest. The driver of the 18 wheeler had some minor cuts but was otherwise okay. All traffic on 2610 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. The car was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich. The 18 wheeler was recovered by East Texas Towing. We will update this story when more information is made available. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on FM-2610 about 1.5 miles from US-146.
This 2013 Honda Civic was traveling west and crossed the center line impacting the front of an 18 wheeler.
The driver of the 18 wheeler swerved to avoid the collision, but it was unavoidable. The 18 wheeler (northeast bound) left the pavement to the left and struck large pine trees.
The driver of the Honda was rushed by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The 18 wheeler impacted several trees and knocked down one large pine tree.
The car was actually equipped with a black box, which was retrieved and will be used in the investigation.
The 18 wheeler appeared to be totaled.
