Richmond Woman Hospitalized in Car Accident, GOODRICH, January 14, 2013 - At approximately 2:45 pm on January 13, 2013, a silver 2006 Toyota Avalon driven by Susan Shair, 62, of Richmond, was south-bound on US-59 near the trinity river bridge. According to witnesses, Shair's vehicle left the pavement to the left and went into the median. Shair over corrected to the right and crossed back over the road to the right side rolled through the grass and crashed into a tree. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Goodrich and Livingston Volunteer Fire Departments and Troopers Chris Cain, Sergeant Nita Bowen, and Trooper Kevin McKellar. Shair's door was jammed and she was trapped. Firemen managed to get the door open. Shair was treated by EMS personnel at the scene and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Investigating Officer Chris Cain said that the accident remains under investigation. No citations were issued. Shair's vehicle was recovered by Harwood Wrecker Service and will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston.
