Man Passes Away From Injuries in Train Accident, KINGWOOD, January 12, 2023 - The construction worker who was struck by a train has, sadly, passed away from the injuries sustained in the accident. Gary Lee Brown, 56, of Leggett, was taking a break and was sitting on the tracks shortly after 4 pm on January 12, 2023 when an oncoming train struck Brown as he didn't move out of the way in time. Brown was rushed by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where an air medical helicopter flew him to Kingwood Hospital. Brown was pronounced deceased after arrival at 5:40 pm. This accident remains under investigation by the Livingston Police Department.

Train Pedestrian Accident, LIVINGSTON, January 12, 2023 - Just minutes after 4 pm on January 12, 2023, a construction contractor (name not yet released) was allegedly resting (sitting) on the railroad tracks in between Polk and West Church Streets, behind a business where he had been working (railroad tracks just south of First State Bank). A train came (south-bound) and the worker didn't move out of the way in time and was struck by the train. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Livingston Police Department (including Chief Matt Parrish), and State Troopers to assist. The train stopped after the accident. The worker was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. At time of press (6 pm), the train is still stopped and blocking traffic in the courthouse area. That's all the information that we have at this time.
