Alcohol Suspected in Accident, LIVINGSTON, January 12, 2020 - At approximately 8:15 pm on January 12, 2020, a silver 2019 Kia Forte, driven by Patricia Cartwright, 52, of Livingston, was north-bound on US-59. Cartwright's vehicle left the pavement to the right, struck a guardrail, continued right, and came to rest in a ditch facing west just south of the city limits of Livingston. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene. Officer Brandon Brewer, with the Livingston Police Department assisted at the scene and Troopers Donny Akers and John Allen with the Texas Highway Patrol were dispatched to investigate. Emergency personnel helped Cartwright from her vehicle and led her to a gurney. Cartwright was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Cartwright smelled of alcohol and a large (nearly empty) bottle of tequila was pulled from the vehicle wreckage. Cartwright was charged with driving while intoxicated. Her vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
52 year old Patricia Cartwright, of Livingston, was driving this 2019 Kia Forte North on US-59 when her vehicle left the pavement to the right and struck a guard rail. Her vehicle continued right and came to rest in a ditch.
Cartwright is helped from her vehicle and led to a stretcher.
Cartwright was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.
A large bottle of tequila was pulled from the wreckage of Cartwright's car.
The crash occurred just south of the city limits of Livingston and just north of Moseley Road on the north-bound side of 59.
Cartwright's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing.
