27 year old Kimberly Dawn Gradney, of Austin, blacked out and crashed into a tree off Sugar Hill Road (off FM-350 South).
Driver Blacks Out, Crashes Pickup, BOLD SPRINGS, January 13, 2017 - Shortly before 8 pm on January 12, 2017, the driver of a brown Dodge Pickup was south-bound on Sugar Hill Road.  As the driver, Kimberly Dawn Gradney, 27, of Austin, reached the end of the road, she went off the end of the pavement and slammed into a tree.  According to witnesses, who walked up to her vehicle, she was unconscious in the vehicle.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Corporal Ramey Bass, Kyle Daniel, and Zach Lenderman with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Gradney was eventually awakened by first responders.  She was examined by EMS personnel and then released.  According to Gradney, she turned on Sugar Hill Road and then blacked out.   When questioned by Corporal Bass, Gradney admitted that she had been smoking marijuana earlier.  Bass checked Gradney for intoxication and she showed no signs of being intoxicated.  George White & Sons Wrecker Service recovered Gradney's vehicle.  The accident remains under investigation.

There was a dog in Gradney's truck. The dog wasn't injured.
