Sleepy Driver Takes Out Telephone Pole, LIVINGSTON, January 6, 2013 - At around 2 am on January 6, 2013, a blue Chevy 1500 pickup driven by 17 year old Colton Leggett of Livingston, was north-bound on South Houston (US-146).  Leggett allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and crossed over the south-bound lanes of traffic and slammed into a telephone pole, continued down hill and crashed into the building of the local SPCA.  Leggett's truck came to rest beside the building.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Police Department including Sergeant Darrell Newman and Officers Dallas Early and Kaleb Barker.  Leggett was fortunate and only sustained bumps and bruises.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered  Leggett's pickup and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.  Leggett was cited for expired vehicle registration.
