Driver Killed Near Corrigan, CARMONA, January 6, 2010 - At approximately 1:20 pm on January 6, 2010, a red 1991 Chevy 1500 pickup driven by Robert Bozarth, 81, of Splendora, was west-bound on FM-287 in Carmona when his truck left the road to the right, struck a culvert, went airborne and rolled. Bozarth's truck came to rest upright facing the woods. DPS Troopers Chris Stanbery, Sergeant Nita Bowen, Ramey Bass, Chad Seamans, and Deputy Terry White were dispatched to the scene. Bozarth had his seatbelt fastened but still suffered fatal wounds from the violent rollover. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Stephen McEntyre performed and inquest and pronounced Bozarth dead at the scene at 1:48 pm. Bozarth's body was transported away from the scene by Corrigan Funeral Home. Bozarth had insurance. A rollback wrecker from James Riley Wrecker Service recovered Bozarth's truck and it will be stored in Corrigan. The scene was cleared shortly after 3 pm.
