Accident Sends 4 to Hospital, LIVINGSTON, January 4, 2021 - At approximately 5:05 pm on January 4, 2021, a tan 2016 Toyota Avalon, driven by Yulanda Weeks, 53, of Lufkin, was north-bound on US-59. As Weeks was passing the entrance of Lakeside Village, a silver Chrysler Town & Country, driven by Lunell Stephens, 93, of Livingston pulled out of Lakeside Village and failed to yield to Weeks. Weeks' vehicle impacted the rear driver's side of Stephens' vehicle. The impact spun Stephens' vehicle around facing the opposite direction that she was driving. Weeks' vehicle came to rest in the pavement facing west. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Kade Burman with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Colton McQuilkin and Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol. Stephens, and three Weeks' passengers, all children (ages 5, 6, and 10) were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Stephens was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. Weeks' vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston. Stephens' vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich.

Lunell Stephens (pictured) and 3 kids from Weeks' vehicle were all transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
