Fiery Rollover Accident, Alcohol Suspected, SPRING CREEK, January 1, 2015 - At approximately 12:15 am on January 1, 2015, an Ambulance crew from Americare Ambulance Service spotted a car that was west-bound on US-190 West headed towards Onalaska.  The crew noticed that the car (a 1997 Accura 35R) was driving approximately 75 miles per hour and was swerving all over the road.  The crew noticed that the car would swerve all the way to the other side of the oncoming (east-bound) lane, and then back to the west-bound lane.  As they tried to call in to report the horrifying scene, the vehicle (driven by Trudy A. Kennedy, 49, of Onalaska) left the pavement to the right near Sandydale Lane.  Kennedy's vehicle drove through the grass for 75 yards.  Evidence suggests that she tried to pull back up onto the pavement, but was now on the wrong side of the guard rail.  It appears that Kennedy kept trying to crash through the guardrail to get back onto the road.  The front end of her car suddenly caught the ground and her vehicle rolled ejecting Kennedy in the process.  Kennedy's vehicle rolled to the bottom of an embankment and came to rest upright and caught fire.  The EMS personnel pulled over to help and summoned help.  Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department, Onalaska PD, and Troopers Chris Cain and Ashley McBride were dispatched.  Trooper Cain spoke with Kennedy and could smell a strong scent of alcoholic beverage.  Kennedy stated that her daughter was in the car.  The car was thoroughly checked, but there was no one else in the vehicle.  Further, the Troopers and other emergency personnel searched the surrounding woods and found nobody else.  Kennedy was treated at the scene, then transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where a medical helicopter landed and transported her to Hermann Hospital in Houston.  Kennedy is possibly facing charges for driving while intoxicated as the accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.  Kennedy's vehicle was recovered by George White & Sons Wrecker Service and will be stored in Onalaska.

49 year old Trudy Kennedy rolled this 1997 Accura 34R off 190 West. Alcohol is suspected.
Kennedy damaged the guarrail causing posts to become detatched.
